Women with Cancer Retreat: I am ....

On July 21st and 22nd, a retreat is planned for women of all ages with cancer, newly diagnosed, in treatment or recovery at The Lodge at Dreaming Tree.  This event is free to each participant and sponsored by local non-profit organizations in collaboration to bring collective support and healing.

With the near resolution of the COVID Pandemic, it is clear there are minimal collective opportunities for people with cancer to gather and learn from each other.  The I am.....  retreat is an evening and day packed full of holistic healing, arts/crafts, excellent speakers, and delicious food.

The festivities begin July 21st at 6:00 pm, whereby a fireside chat and s'mores will be enjoyed.  On July 22nd, we will start at 10:00 am lasting until 6:00 pm.  Activities include sound therapy, Reiki, acupuncture, arts/crafts, jewelry making, and pampering.  The pool at The Lodge at Dreaming Tree is open, along with the walking trails and fire pits.

The collaborating agencies include the Lodge at Dreaming Tree-Help Sammie Kick Cancer, the Jules of Life Foundation, Breathe with Renee, The Compassionate Care, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center-Cancer Treatment Center, St. Lawrence Health System- Cancer Treatment Center, and Ryan's Wish Foundation, along with many volunteers.

Please email Jennie Flanagan to apply at nurseflanagan@gmail.com, or if receiving treatment at either of the local cancer treatment centers, reach out to Kay Zimmer or Jenn Hitsman.  All information obtained will be maintained confidential, and privacy regulations will be followed.
